Angler Ed Simmons lands 385.5 MARLIN for the 2008 winning catch aboard KAI LIO witht Captain Dave Unger at the helm, to win the 2008 LAHAINA JACKPOT FISHING TOURNAMENT. 2nd Place went to Jim Robinson aboard JR's HOOKER, with a 193.2 Marlin, and 3rd was Josh Dean aboard DIE HARD, with a 178.2 Marlin.

The Lahaina Jackpot Fishing Tournament is the oldest money Tournament held in the State of Hawaii. Started in 1976, it has enjoyed continuous community support for 32 years. The objective of this tournament is to promote Lahaina as a sport-fishing destination, along with educating people about sport fishing. It also educates and promotes conservation of our marine resources through a Tag and Release program. The tournament is organized and operated by theLahaina Yacht Club.
The Lahaina Jackpot Fishing Tournament, Organized by the Lahaina Yacht Club has enjoyed many successes over its 33 plus years, with an average participation of as many as 120 boats with 450 to 500 Anglers from all parts of the State, the Continental US & Internationally as well. A large part of the Tournaments success is due in part to the continued support and sponsorship of the Anheuser-Busch Company.
